Fixed-term Contract Policy overview

The Fixed-term Contract Policy provides a framework for managing fixed-term contracts appropriately. It also makes sure that fixed-term employees have equal access to development opportunities and the same or equivalent terms and conditions as those on permanent contracts.  

Who does this apply to?

This policy applies to all fixed-term contract employees, including doctors and dentists in training and locum medical staff directly employed by NHSScotland organisations. It does not apply to agency workers and apprentices.
